On 12 December 2023 (Tuesday), the Selangor State Irrigation and Drainage Department received a visit from the Mathematics and Statistics Student Club (KMMS) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Serdang in conjunction with the Mathstats Eduventure Program 2023/2024. A total of 39 3rd year students from the UPM Serdang Mathematics and Statistics Student Club participated in this visit which was led by the Director of the UPM Mathstats Eduventure Program 2023/2024, Miss Dayana Amalia binti Kamarulzaman.
The visit began with a welcome speech from the Deputy Director of Operations of the State Department of Selangor, Puan Ir. Louis Ho Yeng Gee who was also joined by the Head of the Management Services Division, Mrs. Syahnaz binti Khariul Anwar and the Head of the Water Management, Water Resources and Hydrology Division, Ms. Azuraina binti Mohd Nordin.
During this visit, the students were shown the Selangor State Department Corporate Video explaining the role and responsibilities of the Selangor State Department to the public. In addition, a Briefing on career opportunities and industry training at the Selangor State Department of Education was also given by the Management Services Division.
The head of the River Management, Water Resources and Hydrology Division also took part in this visit by giving a briefing to the students about the flood info website that has been developed for public viewing by the State Department of Selangor. Before the program ended, a question and answer session was held to give students the opportunity to ask questions related to careers and any matter related to the State Department of Selangor.
